According to April Margera who called into Preston and Steve's radio show this morning, one of the stars of MTV’s "Jackass” was involved in a fatal accident. Sources say that Ryan Dunn was killed in a one-car accident that took place in West Goshen, Pa. late Sunday night. Dunn was known primarily for his dangerous antics and practical jokes in the "Jackass" movies with his long-time friend Bam Margera. He is also a member of the CKY Crew with Margera. Ryan Dunn was 34. We’ll keep you updated as details come in |

That's terrible and my condolences to his family and friends. I read that he posted a photo on his twitter account hours before the accident, which showed himself and friends drinking. I wonder if that is what led to this.
Personally, I have no sympathy for drunk drivers. My parents were nearly killed by one when I was a child. Thinking back, I couldn't imagine how different my life would have been without them. |

Ryan is a jack-ass for driving 110 MPH drunk while killing his friend
He was my favorite on Jack-Ass, it is a senseless tragedy!

I'm very sorry for any loss of life and certainly for the families of the deceased.
I have to ask, though, how surprising is it that someone who starred on "Jackass", which does nothing but celebrate brutish, insanely reckless behavior and inhumanity perished in a car accident? Details are still coming in, I understand, but if it turns out to be what it seems to be, this just seems to be a natural consequence of living your life completely oblivious to the notion of thinking before you act, or even worse, caring about what your actions might do to yourself or others. Regardless,

This happened very close to where I live. The local stations are showing all sorts of disturbing images. It doesn't surprise me that this was a fatal accident - the car he was driving no longer exists.

Bam Margera is Not Happy With Roger Ebert's Tweets About Ryan Dunn's Death
by Moviefone Staff posted Jun 21st 2011 After "Jackass" star Ryan Dunn's tragic death yesterday morning in a car crash that also took the life of one of his friends, it appears even the most unlikely of celebrities are weighing in on the matter. In response to the sad news and the image Dunn posted to his Twitter account (which has since been taken down) showing him and two friends sitting around a table with beers at their side just three hours prior to the fatal car crash, Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic Roger Ebert took to his own Twitter account at 3PM yesterday to post the message: "Friends don't let jackasses drink and drive." As you can probably imagine, that hasn't exactly sat well with everyone, especially those who knew Dunn best. Shortly after Ebert's message was posted, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton responded on his website: "We certainly agree that driving after drinking is wrong, we think there's no reason -- especially RIGHT NOW -- that anyone should be pointing fingers or poking fun at a truly tragic situation. Everyone makes mistake, and this is somebody's son. Too soon, Roger." Later that day after readers began voicing their opinions on the comments section of Hilton's website, Ebert fired back with: "Perez Hilton's readers agree with me and not with Perez about my tweet on Ryan Dunn. He drank, he drove, 2 people died." Then late last night, Dunn's "Jackass" co-star Bam Margera chimed in on Twitter as well by saying: "I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of sh*t roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents. About a jackass drunk driving his is one, f*ck you! Millions of people are crying right now, shut your fat f*cking mouth!" The latest update in this back-and-forth has come in form of an explanation and semi-apology from Ebert this morning on his blog: To begin with, I offer my sympathy to Ryan Dunn's family and friends, and to those of Zachary Hartwell, who also died in the crash. I mean that sincerely. It is tragic to lose a loved one. I also regret that my tweet about the event was considered cruel. It was not intended as cruel. It was intended as true.... What did I mean by that Tweet? I meant exactly what I wrote. I wasn't calling Ryan Dunn a jackass. In Twitter shorthand, I was referring to his association with "Jackass." I thought that was clear. I note that Bam Margera uses the word "jackass" in the same way in his tweet.... I don't know what happened in this case, and I was probably too quick to tweet. That was unseemly. I do know that nobody has any business driving on a public highway at 110 mph, as some estimated -- or fast enough, anyway, to leave a highway and fly through 40 yards of trees before crashing. That is especially true if the driver has had three shots and three beers. Two people were killed. What if the car had crashed into another car? Seeing that the police report on Dunn's death hasn't confirmed whether or not alcohol played a role in the crash, along with the fact that it hasn't even been 48 hours since the wreckage was found, it's easy to see why emotions are running high right now. http://www.aoltv.com/2011/06/21/roge...rgera-twitter/ |

Police: 'Jackass' Star's Blood Alcohol More Than Twice the Legal Limit at Time of Fatal Crash
A toxicology report shows that "Jackass" star Ryan Dunn had a blood-alcohol content that was more than twice the legal limit for drivers in Pennsylvania when he and a passenger died in a fiery one-car crash this week. The report says Dunn's blood-alcohol level was 0.196 at the time of the crash early Monday morning. The report was released Wednesday by West Goshen Township Police. The legal limit for drivers in the state is .08. Police say Dunn may have been going as fast as 140 mph when his Porsche veered off the roadway, went airborne and crashed into the woods a Philadelphia suburb. I'm just grateful that he didn't take more than one person with him. It's a miracle he didn't, being that drunk and driving that fast. God bless him and his passenger, who I heard is war veteran who served in Iraq.

Westboro Baptist Church to Picket Ryan Dunn's Funeral June 23rd, 2011 7:53 AM by Free Britney The Westboro Baptist Church is at it again. The notorious, radical Kansas group responsible for protests at the funerals of gay rights supporters, Iraq war veterans, Elizabeth Edwards and innocent children alike, announced plans to picket the funeral of Jackass star Ryan Dunn. In the news release, titled "Ryan Dunn is in hell!" Westboro calls for the picket due to "vulgar stunts" and involvement in MTV's Jackass franchise. Dunn, R. The 34-year-old Dunn perished in a car crash early Monday morning, along with friend Zachary Hartwell. Dunn was driving drunk and very fast. Ryan's death has generated controversy in part due to comments by Roger Ebert, who criticized his apparent drunk driving the very same day. It's clear Dunn's bad decision making played a role in his demise, along with Hartwell's. But both men deserved to be buried in peace and remembered fondly by those close to them without Westboro Baptist Church's meddling. We're not advocating any sort of violent confrontation by any means ... but let's just say if Bam Margera and the Jackass crew decided to f*%k with the Westboro peeps via some elaborate pranks, we wouldn't stand in their way. |

I feel terrible for both the families for their losses, but because this guy was driving up to 140 MPH and his the alcohol in his blood was over twice the legal limit, he's getting no sympathy for me for his stupidity. I just thank God no one else was harmed in this mess.
Hopefully, Ryan Dunn's reckless actions will be shown to young kids to show them what NOT to do. I have a feeling that will happen...at least I hope it will. As for the Westboro "Baptist Church" - they really, REALLY need to get a life already!!!

I am so freaking sick of the Westboro Baptist church, and others who have similar views. It's people like them who make atheists, and agnostics so bitter against Christianity. They see groups like this, and believe that's what Christians are all about, when infact, probably only one percent of fake Christians have those absurd views. Everything this group does is unbiblical. What did Jesus say when the religious leaders of the day asked him why He hung out with people who were sinners. Jesus replied saying it is the sick who need medicine, not the righteous. In other words, it's sinners who need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. What does the Westboro Baptist Church do, they condem, and mock sinners, when they should be trying to save them. What did Jesus say when He was being nailed to the cross? He said please forgive them, they don't know what they're doing to themselves. What does the Westboro Baptist Church do? They condemn sinners to hell. What does God say about people who perish, and go to hell? He says he takes no pleasure in seeing a person go to hell. What does the Westboro Baptist Church do? They laugh, and mock people, and take pleasure in the fact that someone is going to hell. The Bible warns us about people like this, saying it's by their fruits, that ye shall know them. In other words, A true Christian is one who does what the Bible tells them to do. The Westboro Baptist church does the opposite of what the Bible tells them to do. They're wolves in sheeps clothing. One day they'll find out how wrong they were. They're going to have to answer to God, and explain to Him why they did the opposite of what He commanded them to do. And God will treat them the same way they treated others in their lifetime.

Dear God, I just found out that the passenger in his car, Zac Hartwell, was a childhood friend of my best friend, Lisa. She is absolutely crushed, and asks that everyone say a prayer for Zac and his family.
God bless you, Zac. I'm very sorry I never got a chance to meet you.
