40 years ago; Carole King scores her 1st #1 Pop & AC Hit

Happy Father's Day to ya, and also, here's a moment for ya:

40 years today, Famed Singer/Songwriter/Musician Carol Klein better known as Carole King scored her very 1st Double Sided Hit that went all the way to #1 on the Pop & Adult Contemporary Chart called "It's Too Late" / "I Feel the Earth Move"

Those songs were featured on Carole's very 1st #1 Pop Album entitled Tapestry

This Double Sided Hit was #1 on the Pop Chart for 5 consecutive weeks and #1 on the Adult Contemporary Chart for 5 consecutive weeks as well

Carole King has also performed those songs on The Disney Channel's Going Home Concerts

Famed Latin American Singer/Songwriter Gloria Estefan did the remake of It's Too Late and Martika of TV's Kids Incorporated Fame also performed her own version of I Feel the Earth Move and her's was a Top 40 Hit on the Pop Chart peaking @ #25

The Double Sided Hit also went Gold and it earned Carole King a Grammy in 1972 for Record of the Year

I'm a big fan of Carole King's music. She is probably the single most influential female in the history of pop/rock music - both as a recording artist and as a songwriter.

The Adult Contemporary Chart was introduced by Billboard in July 1961. The first #1
song on the chart was The Boll Weevil Song by Brook Benton and the current
#1 is Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars. The chart was known as Middle
Of The Road or Easy Listening until April 1979. Amy Grant also covered It's
Too Late on the Tapestry tribute album Tapestry Revisited(which also featured
a cover of I Feel The Earth Move by the British R&B group Eternal).
