'Family Guy' among youngest-skewing broadcast shows

Earlier Wednesday, we published a story featuring some new research data from The Hollywood Reporter about the oldest-skewing shows airing on TV. Now, we are back to talk about some of the shows geared mostly to a younger audience.

While CBS dominated much of the older list, you will see here that many of the shows with the youngest median age air on either The CW or Fox.

1. "Gossip Girl" (The CW) - With a median age of 29.3, this is easily the youngest show on TV -- and the only one with an age under 30. If you're wondering why the show keeps getting renewed, this is why.
2. "The Cleveland Show" (Fox) -Get ready for a number of anominated shows in a row from Fox, all of which with a median age of 31.5 or younger.
3. "Family Guy" (Fox) - Seth MacFarlane is sure to smile about this.
4. "Bob's Burgers" (Fox) - This show is actually tied with the show before.
5. "American Dad" (Fox) - Another Seth MacFarlane show, this gives him three programs in the top five -- and his shows are really the only ones that have been consistently safe from cancellation.
6. "Hellcats" (The CW) - Now even a median age of 31.7 could have saved this show from cancellation.
7. "90210" (The CW) - With a median age of 31.8, many of these viewers were not even teenagers when the original show first aired in 1990.
8. "One Tree Hill " (The CW) - Considering that this show has been on almost a decade, the fact that its median age is 32 is pretty impressive.
9. "The Simpsons" (Fox) - Being that this show has been on for over 20 years, this age (in 32.4) makes "One Tree Hill" look like nothing.
10. "Shedding for the Wedding" (The CW) - Like "Hellcats," this show is done.
