I don't think there is going to be a season three, at least not from CBS DVD anyway. Anything is possible, but another studio will probably have to pick this up in order for the series to continue on DVD. Maybe Shout Factory can come to the rescue as they've done previously with other abandoned shows like Leave It To Beaver.

Actually, it would be for the best if Shout! Factory would pick it up. They don't release classic tv sitcoms by volume 1 & 2 by season. The down-side though is the longest-run series Shout! has released complete is the 6 season Leave it to Beaver. They're stalled on the 9 season Facts of Life and 7 season Designing Women, (Not blaming Shout!, of course) and My Three Sons is 12 seasons.

Yea, 12 seasons is a lot for a studio to commit to. And in my opinion, My Three Sons doesn't really play back all that well today. I'll watch an episode now and then if the repeats appear on TV, but I haven't planned to buy DVD's. CBS did the show no favors either with splitting the seasons in two volumes and all the ridiculous music changes in the first two seasons DVD.

That I can think of, Bewitched and The Andy Griffith Show (both 8 seasons) are the longest running shows from that era that have been completed. Also the 6 season I Love Lucy if you count in The Lucy Desi Comedy Hour to make it 9 seasons. Any other long running shows from the '50's thru '70's that got competed?

All In The Family's 9 seasons just got completed, again it took Shout Factory to pick the series up and finish it off. So I would say Shout Factory or MPI are probably the best outlets to pick up My Three Sons, but with 10 seasons left of a series that has lost some popularity over the years, it would be a lot for any studio to make a commitment on. There's always a chance the series will be continued on DVD, but right now it seems to be in stalled mode.

Shout! Factory wouldn't have to necessarily release all of the remaining seasons. However, I would love them to release the remainder of the black & white seasons that starred Bill Frawley as "Bub". So perhaps they'll release seasons 3 and 4 soon! We all need to toggle over to Shout! Factory's website and request more "My Three Sons"!!!

I watched a couple color episodes from the later seasons on you tube earlier today. I like Family Affair a lot so I should also like My Three Sons as it's a Fedderson show, but I think Family Affair has aged a little better than My Three Sons. Still, My Three Sons is a quality family show in it's own way. For a 12 season show of 380 episodes, it's surprising that it's lost some popularity over the years. It hasn't had the staying power that some other 60's sitcoms have had.

My Three Sons has to be considered THE sitcom of the 1960's since it ran the entire decade 1960 to 69, continuing all the way to 1972. Quite a run for a show that really isn't in the spotlight much these days.

Yea I should check out the airings on Me-TV. I think the show hit it's stride when Barry Livingston and William Demarest joined the cast, seasons 4 to 11 is when the show was at it's best. I don't care much for William Frawley in this show, I prefer William Demarest as Uncle Charley.

I like this show up until the last two seasons. Didnt leave Steve's bratty little step daughter much.
