Something I've always wondered about the merger between the CW and UPN? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I've wondered something about the merger. With the merger so close how come the CW premiered new shows? Two that come to mind were "The Bedford Diaries" that starred Jess from the Gilmore Girls and "Pepper Dennis" that starred Rebecca Romijn. I mean even if the shows were picked up where were they going to go? With the shows that were already picked up from the CW and UPN, when were they going to appear on the schedule?

I mean I just dont see the point. If there was a good shot that the shows were going cancelled or not picked up because there wasnt any room on the schedule, than why did they even debut in the first place?

To get the facts straight it was the WB that merged with UPN with the resulting network being called the CW.

Sorry for that. I forgot it was the WB and UPN that became the CW.
