Lynda Carter Recalls Her "Wonder Woman" Audition Competition (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino posted May 23rd 2011 Who was your "Wonder Woman" competition? 'Cause in 1975 it was a great year in Hollywood for all of you pretty girls. Well 1975 was actually the same as 1974 (laughs). In 1974 there were no women on television, there were no scripts written for women on television for leads in series; you either had to be a hooker, or a mommy, or a secretary... there just weren't roles being written. So who were some of the famous girls that we know now that you beat for the role? Well this is the same group year after year after year auditioning for the same roles... Cheryl Ladd, Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith, Lindsay Wagner... We all ended up for every part that came along it was the same group of women. And you all ended up working! I walk in the room and I see them all sitting there and we go 'Hi' thinking 'I'm never gonna get this part, one of them will'. Then I ended up getting it. http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/05/23/ly...illiams-video/ |
