Once J.J became man of the house and got a real job and had a steady girl, I would have like rto see his BOSS, COWORKER, or GIRLFRIEND to call him JAMES.
Not sure why the writers had his Boss referring to him as J.J. Has anyone ever had their boss call them by their nickname?-lol |

Since it was a place of business it would have made more sense for his boss to say Mr. Evans or James Rerun on What's Happening wasn't called by his real name by his teacher Same thing with Freddie Boom Boom on WBK |

Seriously TVFactFan, regarding to What's Happening, In real life, what teacher would call their student "Rerun", think about it and regarding to WBK, why would anyone, I mean anyone, let alone a licensed teacher call somebody "Freddie Boom Boom", at least "J J" sounds like a regular name to be called on a job or in class.lol

Because J.J is still a nickname. It just seem like he never grew up on the show even though he stopped saying dynomite and wearing the blue hat |

I guess I was just so used to hearing EVERYBODY refer to him as J.J....I didn't even give it a second thought. Then again, sitcoms didn't seem to make much of an effort to go from calling someone by their Nickname to their full name back in the day.
