I have always loved the way, in this episode, that Lovey's attractiveness is
brought out in a way to make her appear more beautiful than the other girls. It really works! The Skipper dressed as a woman is always hysterical! In contrast to Lovey as Cinderella, it's too bad (in my opinion) that Thurston does not look attractive in anyway as a prince with that pageboy haircut. He looks much more attractive just as Mr. Howell! Supposedly, Thurston had meant well with the notes but I did feel sorry for Lovey in light of his comments about her age, etc. It's amazing, though, how the Howell fights usually go to these separation extremes! Is Thurston going for an Academy Award with his confrontation scenes with each of the men? Remember, he knows he sent the notes himself. What do the MAG people say to Maryann's little staged play with Ginger regarding her "romantic interest" in the Skipper. If Gilligan and/or Maryann were interested with the other or involved with each other, would the Skipper take such pleasure in Maryann's "confession" and wouldn't he be shocked by it? I would think he would be aware as Gilligan's best friend. |

This is one of my favorite episodes of GI. It had it all: Skipper in drag, the Professor's lie detector machine, Ginger and Mary Ann looking hideous as the ugly stepsisters, Gilligan as the fairy godfather. Plus it was a good showcase for the Howells, especially Lovey.
