I was spanked by my parents but I was a kid in the 70's and 80's. Mainly this happened in the 70's when my parents were still married, but even when it was just my mom, brother and I it happened then, too.

I grew up in the 70's and my siblings and I were spanked on occasion if we deserved it. None of us felt abused and sometimes we look back at some of those spankings and laugh. Once my Mom spent the entire day cleaning the house and we kids came home and trashed it and then went outside and played. Mom came outside and said, 'Kids, come in the house, I've got a surprise for you.' Guess what the surprise was...

I grew up in the 80's and corporal punishmen was the order in my house. If I got out of line, I got it. My mother, stepfather, and an aunt, uncle and grandmother gave it to me. Believe me I learned.

Franky I think we need more of that with kids today. Parents are too soft today and thats one of the reasons why these bad assed kids are under the impression they can do whatever they want and get away with it.

Thats my opinion.

70's and early 80's. Yes, and even once I had a wooden spoon broken over my butt, but it was because I didn't come straight home from school, didn't call to tell my mom where I was, and when I finally came home my mom was waiting for me in the drive way....I never did it again, and having a child of my own I totally know what my mom was feeling that day when she didn't know where I was.
