Question Was Hal Linden Considered A Sex Symbol Back In His 'Barney Miller' Days?

Or was that honor bestowed to Max Gail instead? Just curious?

I've heard some women who watched the show back when it was on originally say that they found Hal attractive. I think everyone knows who *I* think the sex symbol of the show was.

Yeah my guess was that Wojo was always the "sex symbol" of the show...with Harris maybe second.

I'm thinking Chano would have been up there too if he'd stayed. When he was on the show hadn't really hit it's stride in the ratings.

No votes for Lugar or Levitt, huh?

Lugar? Levitt? Throw in Scanlon and you have the Trifecta of Nightmare Dates!! Of course, Harris isn't exactly my idea of a dreamboat (I think the middle initial in his name, "N", stood for "Narcissistic" instead of "Nathan", ) - can you just imagine him on a dinner date? "Enough about you, let's talk about me."

Yeah, ol' "Hare" probably wasn't the most empathetic of suitors, that's for sure. He'd be more of a "bad boy", I guess, though the early Wojo would have fallen into that category, too.

It's interesting that a fair number of female visitors to the 12th seemed to take a shine to Dietrich. He wasn't a Robert Redford in the looks department, but he knew how to treat a lady and his intellect and humor seemed to have a big impact, too.

Cool

I can't believe we're talking about the sex symbols of Barney Miller and no one has mentioned Nick Yemana or Phil Fish! After all what's sexier than a make who can make coffee? Or a man who practically lives in the bathroom? Okay I guess just about anything is sexier than that! never mind!

Teen girls had photos of the cast of Barny Miller plastered all over their walls.
