This is kind of off topic but has anyone seen the Lifetime series "Vanished"? The series is about people who have vanished and Beth Holloway is the host. Anyway, this Monday's episode (Ithink it's Monday's episode) is about Amy Bradley, the girl who vanished from the cruise ship. The preview said Beth may have a new lead on the case. Maybe we'll see some old Unsolved Mysteries cases on this show, hopefully leading to solving some.

That would be wonderful for them to give cold cases new coverage! I hope they include the brothel lead and photo lead; they may not be Amy, but they could be and these are the biggest updates in years. Hopefully they will do the same to many UM cases as well.

I think they are going to. I saw the photo on the previews that they think may be Amy so I believe they will cover it.

I've watched it. I thought it was pretty good but not as interesting as "Disappeared". Both shows seem to be profiling a lot of the same cases.

I've seen the first episode, taped the second and am going to watch it tomorrow night. There is another show "Missing" coming on A&E the last of the month. What station and time does "Disappeared" come on?

I think Disappeared is an ID (Investigation Discovery) channel program. I found their website here: http://investigation.discovery.com/tv/disappeared/ They have a "channel finder" feature in the upper right corner of the page.
I haven't watched Vanished yet, but I've seen a few of the Disappeared episodes. I thought they were very interesting. I had DirecTV for 11 years and had all the channels memorized, then last month, hubby decided we needed to switch to Comcast cable, because it's cheaper. Now I can't find a darn thing on TV! lol I'll be glad when I get their channels memorized. I can't even find the reruns of UM without digging through the huge channel guide. By the time I finally find the show, it's over. :P |

Here's some more good news. In two weeks, the show will be featuring the Ashley Freeman and Laura Bible case.
Set your VCRs or DVRs. ![]() With shows like Disappeared, Missing, and Vanished popping up the past two years, perhaps unsolved true crime shows will become the norm again. We need a new show focusing on unsolved murders. |

Darn it! Tried the lifetime website and the show wont load up.
I also can't get lifetime in Canada. I miss Lifetime, with all the cable stations we get from the US, I'm surprised we can't get that one...

Did anyone see "Vanished" last night? What a disturbing story. It's horrible that you can't go on a cruise without something like this happening. I hope with all the new coverage she will come home soon. What do you guys think? Do you think the sightings with the older man and the woman in the bathroom were legitimate? Maybe her brother and father should have called in the police to double check that white van.

I still find it strange that someone could be abducted on such a large ship. If she was abducted, it'd be difficult to get her off the ship without being noticed. IMO, there's a chance that Amy was intoxicated and accidentally fell overboard. |

I was leaning toward the fallen overboard theory, also, when I saw this on Unsolved Mysteries. She could have become disoriented when she woke up and accidentally went in the wrong direction toward the railing. Then I saw the picture. It does look uncannily like her. I guess we'll never know at this point.

At the thread on Amy Bradley at the Websleuths forum, there is a bit of discussion on if she could have fallen overboard. The general consensus was that unless she was trying to commit suicide and climbed up on the railing, with the height of cruise ship railings, it is almost impossible to unintentionally fall overboard.
I watched the Vanished episode and learned a lot of details that I didn't know before. The fact that the photos found online were examined by a forensic detective who was pretty sure they were of Amy was new to me. As to how she got off the ship, I believe she was lured off and then found out it wasn't what she was expecting. She tried to contact her family (asking the cab driver about a telephone), but was taken. Unfortunately, given the length of time since her disappearance, I can only assume that Amy outlived her usefulness to those holding her and she was eliminated. |
