Sad 'The Munsters' Star Butch Patrick Has Been Diagnosed With Cancer

The Munsters star Butch Patrick has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

The former child star, who played Eddie in the long-running sitcom, has battled with addictions to cocaine, marijuana and alcohol, and now he faces another major fight - for his life.

Revealing the news to Star magazine, he says, "I went 41 years trying to kill myself and then finally got to the point where I want to live when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My first thought when I was told (this) was, 'Isn't this a kicker! I get clean, my life is together and now God is going to punch my ticket."

But the former child star remains positive about his prognosis.

He adds, "If you catch it early, there's a good chance of survival. I'm told I have a 90 per cent chance of recovery and living another 20 years."

Butch has successfully battled his addictions and I pray he'll use the lessons learned in those battles to successfully battle cancer.

I wish him the best in his recovery.

I saw him not too long ago (April 30th) at the Chiller Theatre in NJ; he looked good.

Sad news, but there is lots of hope. Here's hoping for the best for Mr. Patrick!
