I saw a few minutes of a show called Extreme Couponing today. I couldn't believe it. This lady had a list of 800 things to buy. She had a bunch of coupons. It came to over a thousand dollars, but after all the coupons she only had to pay $44!
I can't imagine having to stand in line behind her. That must have taken so long to ring everything up. At one point because there were so many coupons it confused the computer at the checkout and the clerk had to manually enter some of the coupons. The receipt must have been like a foot long.

I love coupons. I use coupons for only things I need. 10 years ago I started buying natural, organic products and I don't see a whole lot of coupons for that. The coupons for most products are simply not good for you. But that is my choice and I know coupons can save tons of money. Also I use coupons for restaurants and things like oil and lube.

That receipt would be five feet long.
I thought I had couponing down to a science, but this lady puts others to shame. That takes a lot of work and preparation. I know when I make a coupon killing at CVS, it can take up to two hours of planning and writing my list. When I go and save $30 to $60, it's worth it.

I really need to do more couponing. I basically just know which local store has the cheapest price for milk, for apples, fish etc. and go there. Very often, like 85%, its the Trader Joes that a 5 min walk from me (God Bless Them). I do use the coupons that come in my Weight Watchers weekly for their cream cheese and for the Progresso soups. But I really need to coupon more - however, I don't have the time and patience to get it down to such a since as that woman! Kudos to her, hope she's in charge of some co's budget cause she sure knows how to spend wisely.

I saw that too, I bet half the stuff she buys will expire before she can use it. So if you end up throwing away all those expired items, how are you really saving money? I use coupons, but only on things that I will actually use in a reasonable amount of time.
