I was watching an episode of Dobie Gillis this weekend and Raymond Bailey (Milburn Drysdale) was in the episode playing a member of the faculty of the college that Dobie and Maynard had just enrolled in. And he was wasn't wearing a toupee!! I've only ever seen one still picture of Mr. Bailey sans toupee so it took a couple of seconds to recognize him. As soon as he started speaking I recognized the voice right away!

...and was able to appear with and without it, depending on the various parts he played on TV, and in movies. Naturally, when he was "Mr. Drysdale", he had to sport a full head of hair, because he wouldn't have been as effective without it.

I saw Raymond without his toupee on an episode of Alfred Hithcock Presents "Breakdown" and an early episode of Mister Ed "Ed the Beneficiary".

Raymond was in a great episode of Twilight Zone with Russell Johnson (time travel, Lincoln assasination).
He was also in a My Three Sons episode where Bub gets a job and tries to sell him a hat

I've now seen a lot of Raymond's appearances from before his work on BH, and I think in every case he was bald -- not wearing a hairpiece...!

Haha! Mr. Drysdale was bald! Ya'll are right, though, he wouldn't have been very effective yelling at Miss Jane if he didn't have hair. He would just look like a short bald dude yelling at Miss Jane. LOL!

I've seen him numerous time with the toup and without. I think he has always given a great performance in everything I have seen him in, comedy or drama. Nothing, of course, matches his work in The Beverly Hillbillies.
