Anyone here find it odd that Rhoda's parents were introduced before Mary's?

It was a couple of episodes after Rhoda's father made his 1st appearance on MTM and Ida's 3rd appearance that Mary's parents were introduced and as you all would know, they only lasted a few episodes.

In another thread, somebody mentioned some tension with the actress who played Rhoda's mother which would explain a lot. It would also explain that the last episode that we saw either of MTM's parents, only her father was on.

I think it was odd, but even odder was the fact that Mary's parents moved so close to her & yet were never seen.
