Post Actors whose characters were killed off

How many can you name? (Not limited to just sitcoms)

----------------
No, The Chief doesn't count. Actors who left a series and had their characters kiiled off do.

Valerie Hogan (Valerie Harper) on "Valerie/The Hogan Family"
Kate McCoy (Kathy Nolan) on "The Real McCoys"
Edith Bunker (Jean Stapleton) on "Archie Bnker's Place"
Phil (Pat Corley) on "Murphy Brown" (although I think he came back to life for the last episode)
Aunt Fran (Rue McClanahan) on "Mama's Family"
James (John Amos) on "Good Times"
Margeret (Jean Hagen), Danny's first wife, on "Make Room for Daddy"

Love the "Dallas" reference, BTW. Just keep repeating to yourself, like Pam Ewing, "It was only a dream. It was only a dream. It was only a dream..."

Well you all have covered sitcoms fairly well. How about some dramas?

Claire Kincaid - Law and Order
Jadzia Dax - Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Lucy Knight - ER
Melissa Scully - The X-Files
William and Teena Mulder - The X-Files

Bert - Sesame Street (No, it's not true, but it's such an enduring urban legend I couldn't resist!)

"Murphy Brown": Phil definitely did make a surprise return in the final episode. Going on memory here, but he reappeared in the bar and said something about how he had to go into hiding for some reason, so his death was faked.
