Default Conan With or Without the Beard

Last night's show he shaved off his beard starting Wil Ferrel doing it and the rest was finished during commercials. I personally like it better off because he can make facial expressions that you can see better without the beard. I only wish now he can bring back the comedy bits he did on Late Night that gave him an edge but NBC won't let them go. I guess they are punishing Conan for standing his ground. Good for him.

Without the beard - definitely. I just don't think the beard works for him.

I didn't mind the beard, but I'm glad he shaved it. He started growing it immediately after taping the final Tonight Show, so to me the beard represented the depression and tumult he went through during that period and the months that followed.

Maybe I'm reading too much into facial hair, but shaving it off is like finally letting go of the sadness.

I agree. Last night when Wil was shaving the beard he was like the old Conan goofy and having fun. The first few shows of Conan he looked like he was still shaken up by the whole NBC drama. He is getting his edge back and look like he is having fun. I love the comedy between him and Andy Richter. They are funnier than Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon. Conan and Andy bring the best out of each other.

I didn't mind it after awhile, but I never really liked the beard on him. I much prefer the clean-shaven Conan. I pretty much agree with AKA's take on it, that shaving the beard was like letting go of all the drama that happened in the last year and a half.
