I have a legal question about a Louis Armstrong autograph? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

this doesnt involve one of my autographs because i dont even have a louis armstrong autograph in my collection yet but i read an article about armstrong autographs and it said that he was known to sign 45 rpm records thru rhe mail and it also stated that queens college in new york wich houses all of louis armstorng;s papers letters etc had a small collection of 45 that he had alredy signed to some fans but had not mailed them before his death my question is since they had alredy been signed and most likley had the fans return adresses on envelopes or something ready to mail to any of the fans if they are still living still have the right to these records or does queens college have a right to keep them ? i personally think the fans still have a legal right to them

Considering the fact that Louis Armstrong died 40 years ago, it's probably likely that some of the people that may have been owed records have moved by now or have possibly passed on. After all this time, I doubt that anyone is still concerned about their records. If the records and other material were left to the College in Mr. Armstrong's will then the School is legally entitled to them.
