...and the apartment was never locked? People just barged in all the time (except, of course, for the many times the Sweathogs came in through the windows) - and this was Brooklyn!! I guess it must have been an extremely TAME neighborhood in Brooklyn.

The building the Kotter's lived in probably did not have a security system and the area was probably one of Brooklyn''s roughest neighborhoods.

That's my point! What was the point of having all those locks and bolts on the door if they were never used??
