Yes, he comes to Minneapolis right in the pilot to attempt to win her back. It doesn't work, of course. And the bit in that scene w/ Lou drunkenly contributing to the conversation is hilarious. "I miss you more than....roses in winter!" hehe!

Ah, I had almost forgotten that he was in the pilot. It's obviously been too long since I've seen it!
Looking back, it seems like Mary really didn't "miss much" by dumping this guy. Seemed like a real dud to me.
