Selena Gomez to Tape Final 'Wizards of Waverly Place' This Friday

Disney star Selena Gomez will tape the final episode of her hit Disney Channel series, Wizards of Waverly Place on Friday. The 18-year-old star, who has played Alex Russo, a teenager with magical powers on the award-winning show for four years, will be hanging up her wizard hat for good.

Last summer, Selena made a prediction to Latina.com about how it would feel to see Wizards come to an end. “That’s going to be the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do,” she said. “It’s hard for me to say goodbye after a season. I cried when season three was over and people were like, ‘We’re going to be back, Selena.’ I am very sensitive,” she added at the time.

Selena even told us her favorite memory of working on Wizards. “We came in to rehearsal one day and we didn’t even rehearse,” she recalled. “The whole cast and crew sat in the set living room and talked for two hours. We had coffee, food, we were laughing, and we were all so comfortable that I was in my pajamas!”

She continued: “I just thought that was so sweet because in this business, I get so paranoid. You go out to dinner and there are people taking pictures of you and you have to be cautious of how you get out of a car because someone might be looking,” she explained. “It feels so weird and it’s so unfortunate that you have to live your life that way, but [on the set of Wizards] I looked around and I thought, ‘I really feel safe here.’ That was my favorite moment.”

My husband loves Wizards of Waverly Place and has gotten me to like it as well. It has a great cast and can be hilarious at times, so I'm sorry to hear that it's not going to be on for much longer. I do wish they would put these on DVD in order of airings; like in Seasons. I hate the way they have them on DVD now' just randomly thrown together.
