'Cougar Town' invites you to join Laurie's Army

The "Cougar Town" Penny Can phone is still active, and several members of the cast and crew are active on Twitter. On Wednesday (April 27), Laurie Keller will join them.

In Wednesday's episode, Laurie -- not to be confused with the actress who plays her, Busy Philipps -- will discuss her Twitter feed, @thelarmy (for The Laurie's Army). It's active now, and will get a lot more active once Wednesday's episode airs.

"Within the show, the character is tweeting to her followers constantly," "Cougar Town" co-creator Bill Lawrence tells Zap2it. "She says her followers want 24 hours of constant contact, so we're going to be [updating] for like 24 straight hours when the show comes on."

As of this post, Philipps herself was not following Laurie, thereby avoiding the possibility of real and fictional worlds collapsing on one another and, possibly, the end of civilization.

You can see the leader of Laurie's Army in action when "Cougar Town" airs at 9:30 p.m. ET Wednesday on ABC.
