Just found out earlier this yr Gilbert Ortiz (the man that was poisoned by his wife with the "body building" milkshake) was attacked by his son. I'm linking an article about it that has a good picture of what Jonathan looks like now.
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/...entry_id=81604 Just gotta say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. edited to say, check out the comments at the bottom of the page. One is from a supposed cousin of Elizabeth's that calls Gilbert "an evil man" |

how unfortunate. I really feel for Gilbert Ortiz. it's been a hard knock life.
I think it's safe to say Elizabeth engaged in some heavy duty brainwashing of Jonathan, a la the Maples. |

After reading the comments the whole thing is so depressing. They are saying that Gilbert was on drugs/drinking etc.... and also that he's doing it now.
Maybe I'm not that good of a judge of character then it comes to people on UM(I really did think ol Jules Caynor was innocent...until I read more into it) but I don't know, Gilbert just came across as a really sincere nice guy...he didn't seem like he had any major issues. |

Wow, what's really sad about that is that I believe Gilbert was disabled after he recovered from the poisoning. Didn't he have trouble walking and stuff? And the fact that his son would beat up his disabled father, especially considering he still suffers from when his wife tried to kill him! What a deranged kid. I definitely agree he sounds brainwashed.

That is terrible. Im sure the son was brainwashed by his mother and has hate for his father because of what he has heard about him from his mother. The woman was an evil psycho, imagine the hatred she probably spewed to her son about his dad before she was caught.

Vicious cycle
. Jonathan was the abused and now has become the abuser. So sad considering I imagine he lived a rough life himself....considering being on the run and all...his mother was the only parental influence in his life for around 8 years so I imagine she poisoned him against his dad. He was such a cute little baby boy!

Sad to hear and i think alot of the blame should be on the mother who is in prison. she must have done some good brainwashing to Jonathan.

ya but he is over 18 now...she didnt force him to attack Gilbert, just like nobody forced her to poison Gilbert beforehand...I feel sorry for the kid because he has obviously lived a rough life and by running from the authorities she taught Jonathan that you should run from your problems as opposed to facing them head on. Morally, I feel she is to blame.....the lessons we learn as children carry over into adulthood. Legally, I do not think Elizabeth is to blame |

jeez, Gilbert goes out of his way to be with his son again only to have Jonathan attack him because Gilbert helped lock up his ex-wife (Jonathan's mom) Elizabeth? What a twisted world we live in. How ungrateful of Jonathan to do this to his father, and after all his father has been through you would think Jonathan would have a little bit or alot of sympathy but I guess not.

True but Jonathan was on the run with his mother so long. As a young child she brainwashed him...he probably grew up thinking he was the bad guy. |
