Confused Could A SCRIPTED 'Taxi' Reunion Be Possible Without Latka Or Bobby On It???

Obviously Latka aka the late Andy Kaufman could not appear on a reunion, but what about Bobby Wheeler? Without the two of them could a reunion even be possible?

Yes, it's possible. Would it be as good? Of course not but it'd still be an interesting reunion movie. They could mention that Bobby's still in Hollywood. I just don't know what the plot would be. They wouldn't still all be working as cabbies.

Besides, most reunion shows have some actors absent. There are so few 100% full cast reunions.

I don't know - personally, I think that ship has sailed. However, stranger things have happened!

Cool

I have an idea for a Taxi reunion. The Sunshine Cab Company is going out of business. The only series regular who still works there is Louie DePalma. But the other cabbies all come back to the garage for one last visit . Simka comes to the reunion to represent Latka as it was his dying wish that she do so. The cabbies take turns telling the others what their lives have been like since leaving the cab company.

That would actually work, Marv! I could see Louie being all angry at them coming back, too. Esp. if some of them actually found success outside the garage!

I say why bother. Let the show live on in reruns and on DVD.

Reunions are almost always bad but it's fun to see the actors together again and playing the old characters again.

I honestly don't think they ever will do a reunion but I'd certainly watch it and be excited about it if they do.

It's hard enough seeing Jeff Conway in his current condition let alone seeing him on screen again. Let the show stay on dvd.

Too bad that question was answered in an all-too-terrible fashion the day after it was posted.

Bobby Wheeler was the Joey Tribbiani of the late 70s/early 80s. Struggling yet cocky New York wannabe actors who went to try their luck in LA. It's sad thinking of how young and vibrant Jeff Conaway was back in those days knowing what was to come. I mean, Judd Hirsch is 76 and still looks and sounds the same as he did when he was playing Alex Rieger - he's just grayer. Too bad Jeff's life couldn't have turned out more like Judd's, or Marilu's, etc.

Latka's showing Bobby the ropes up there in Heaven right now. Two Sunshine Cab Company employees reunited.

I'm not sure I'd like to see a Scripted Taxi reunion at this point. It's been nearly 30 years since the show was cancelled, it just wouldn't be the same. I wouldn't mind seeing a reunion where they just talk about the show, like the one they had on the Today Show several years ago. There also was a Taxi Reunion that aired on CBS back in 1994 that ran 90 minutes that I'd like to see someday.
