Cedric the Entertainer Talks To Wendy Williams about his "Hot in Cleveland" Spin-off
TV Land Developing "Hot in Cleveland" Spin-Off
Apr 18, 2011 by Joyce Eng TV Land is developing a "Hot in Cleveland" spin-off starring Cedric the Entertainer. The as-yet-untitled series will focus on a character Cedric will debut on Cleveland's upcoming third season: a minister who gets involved with the ladies' adventures. "We're definitely going to bring people quality entertainment and laughs with this new show," Cedric said. "I'm very excited to be working with TV Land and the creative team of 'Hot in Cleveland'." The project is contingent upon the pilot script, which will be co-written by Cedric and "Cleveland" creator Suzanne Martin. "Cedric is hilarious and I'm so happy to do this show with him," Martin said. "We are going to have a lot of fun developing and exploring his role as a minister." http://www.tvguide.com/News/Hot-Clev...f-1032008.aspx |

I really enjoyed watching Cedric on "The Steve Harvey Show". So I hope this spin-off gets picked up and Cedric returns to our TV screens!

Cedric the Entertainer Talks About His "Hot in Cleveland" Spin-off (VIDEO)
by Alex Moaba posted Oct 3rd 2011 Cedric the Entertainer appeared on "The Wendy Williams Show" and he talked about a "Hot in Cleveland" spin-off that's in production focusing on his raunchy, former R&B-singing minister character. You did a guest spot on "Hot in Cleveland" and worked with Betty White and the other girls, how was that? That was great. Betty White is top notch and it's an amazing cast. Was it true that your character did so well that you're now doing a spin-off? We're actually in development right now on the spin-off. Yeah, I'm a reverend that used to sing really raunchy R&B songs. http://www.aoltv.com/2011/10/03/cedr...illiams-video/ |

TV Land sets pilot for Cedric 'Cleveland' spinoff in late November/early December
TV Land has given a pilot order to Hazy Mills for a planted spinoff of "Hot in Cleveland" to star Cedric the Entertainer.
"Cleveland" creator-exec producer Suzanne Martin and Cedric penned the script for the pilot that features Cedric playing a charismatic minister. Plan is to lense the pilot in late November/early December on the CBS Radford lot where "Cleveland" shoots. Martin and Cedric will exec produce along with Hazy Mills' Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner. TV Land planted the seeds of the Cedric spinoff over the summer when the thesp did a guest shot as the character, who came into contact with the ladies of "Cleveland." TV Land execs confirmed earlier this year that the concept was being eyed as a possible spinoff (Daily Variety, April 11). In the pilot, the character will relocate to St. Louis, which is Cedric's actual home town. Martin and Cedric will exec produce along with Hazy Mills' Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner. The success of "Hot in Cleveland" in its bow last year set Hazy Mills off on good run. The banner has the NBC fantasy drama "Grimm" bowing on Oct. 28. It's also developing an untitled laffer with Peter Tolan for Hayes to topline, and it's part of the Western wagon train in development this year with a offbeat dramedy penned by Kerry Ehrins. http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118043863?refCatId=14 |
