R-Truth and Christian looks to win Heavyweight Gold in the WWE

2 weeks from tomorrow, it's WWE Extreme Rules 2011

and this year, we have 2 men that are looking to win Heavyweight Gold in the WWE

Ronnie Aaron Killings and William Jason Reso better known as R-Truth and Christian

2 men w/1 thing in common:

They're both former 2x NWA World Heavyweight Champions

During their 1st stint in the WWE

Christian has held every title from the WWE Light-Heavyweight Championship to the World Tag Team Titles on 9 occasions w/Edge, Lance Storm and Chris Jericho to the I-C Title on 3 occasions to the European Heavyweight Championship to the WWE Hardcore Championship

R-Truth on the other hand has competed in the WWE during the Attitude Era and during a LIVE WWE Event in North Carolina, he won the WWE Hardcore Championship on 2 occasions from Raven

But these 2 men competed in Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett's TNA-Total Nonstop Action Wrestling

During the NWA-TNA Years, R-Truth would capture the NWA World Heavyweight Championship twice during the NWA-TNA Days @ The Asylum in Nashville, TN

On August 7, 2002 on Week #8 of the NWA-TNA PPV, R-Truth def. the 1st NWA World Heavyweight Champion of TNA Wrestling-UFC Fighter Ken Shamrock and he would hold on to the title for 15 consecutive weeks before losing the belt to The King of the Mountain and TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett on November 20, 2002 during Week #22

68 weeks later on May 19, 2004, R-Truth regained the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in a 4-Way Dance against the Champion AJ Styles, Raven and The Wildcat Chris Harris

2 weeks later, R-Truth lost the title back to Jarrett in the 1st ever King of the Mountain Match which also had AJ Styles, Raven and The Wildcat Chris Harris

R-Truth would also go on to hold the NWA World Tag Team Championship w/The 3 Live Kru consisted of R-Truth, BG James and Konnan and the TNA World Tag Team Championship w/The Controversial NFL Pro Adam "Pacman" Jones

Christian Cage on the other hand has held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship twice during the iMPACT! Years in Orlando, FL on SPIKE TV

@ the 2nd Annual Against All Odds, Cage def. Jeff Jarrett to win his 1st NWA World Heavyweight Championship and he would hold on to the belt for 18 consecutive weeks before losing the belt back to Jarrett in the 3rd Annual King of the Mountain Match which also had R-Truth, The Icon STING and The Monster Abyss

30 weeks later @ Final Resolution III, Cage regained the NWA World Heavyweight Championship against The Monster Abyss and STING in a 3-Way Elimination Match and he would hold on to the title for 17 consecutive weeks before the NWA Stripped TNA of both the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and the NWA World Tag Team Championship

Christian Cage has had successful title defenses against the likes of The Monster Abyss, "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown, "The Olympic Gold Medalist" Kurt Angle and "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe

R-Truth has held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship a combined total of 17 non-consecutive weeks

Christian Cage has held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship a combined total of 35 non-consecutive weeks

In 2009, both R-Truth and Christian returned to the WWE

3 weeks after Wrestlemania 25th Anniversary, Christian would go on to capture the ECW World Heavyweight Championship twice def. the likes of Jack Swagger @ The Final BACKLASH PPV and ECW Alumni Tommy Dreamer @ the 3rd Annual WWE Night of Champions PPV

and last year, R-Truth captured the WWE U.S. Heavyweight Championship against his arch-rival The Miz after Bret Hart vacated the title after def. The Miz before The Miz recaptured the belt in a Fatal 4-Way Match on RAW 6 days before the Fatal 4-Way PPV which also featured John Morrison and Zack Ryder

R-Truth held the U.S. Strap for 3 consecutive weeks and Christian held the ECW World Heavyweight Championship for a combined total of 35 non-consecutive weeks and 2 days

and now, these 2 men are looking to win Heavyweight Gold in the WWE @ Extreme Rules

R-Truth will face John Cena and The Miz in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Heavyweight Championship and Christian will face his arch-rival Alberto Del Rio in a Ladder Match for the vacant Big Gold World Heavyweight Championship in a Ladder Match

2 years ago @ Extreme Rules, Jeff Hardy def. Edge to win his 1st of 2 World Heavyweight Championship reigns in a Ladder Match before CM Punk (who def. Umaga earlier in the night) cashed in his Money in the Bank Briefcase to capture his 2nd World Heavyweight Championship
