Do cats usually have fairly good eyesight?
My cat Romeo on and off recently has been walking into the counter and the wall. I'm not sure if it's just that he's not paying attention to where he is going or that he isn't seeing it in enough time to not walk into it. |

Cats have excellent eyesight and he shouldn't be bumping into things like that especially large obstacles such as a wall. I suggest that you call your vet asap about it.

Yeah, that's a little scary and definitely a question for a vet.

I mentioned to my mother about Romeo walking into the counter and the wall. She thinks that perhaps the catnip banana toy is causing him to act 'high'. She mentioned to me to that I might want to put the banana away temporarily and see if he still walks into anything. She looked at his eyes when she came over today and she doesnn't see cataracts or anything. If it doesn't get better I will certainly take him to the vet.
Thanks everyone.

you must have a young cat, i dont think older cats mess around with catnip. it can be very entertaining watching a cat bombed out of his skull on catnip.
hopefully thats all your cat is going thru, its peer pressure, other cats tell him " try this, it will make you feel good " where does catnip come from ? does it grow wild in the woods ? Is there a farmer somewhere who has acres and acres of catnip that he harvests, for the sole purpose of making cat toys ? Just so teenage cats can get high ? As far as I know, Its not used for anything else. If they ever make it illegal, there will be unscrupulous cats growing their own and selling it on street corners and alleys. If you take his catnip away,he will throw fits and tantrums, dont give in to him. its for his own good. |

our dog suddenly started bumping into things and having problems seeing and I ignored it at first, it turned out to be leukemia and by the time I took him to the vet there was nothing they could do for him.
