The Vinnie Barbarino Song: Does It Still Get A Laugh Or Is It A Corny Mess???
![]() Ba-ba-ba, ba-barbarino. Ba-ba-ba, ba-barbarino. Ba-ba-ba, ba-barbarino. Just out of curiosity, does the Barbarino song still make the ladies swoon and the guys laugh or looking back, it made the show a kooky cartoon mess? Opinions??? |

It still makes me laugh. Not so much actually how it's done, but just that it's a parody of "Barbara Ann" by The Beach Boys. (I went to college with a Barbara Ann, and you can bet I tortured her with that at times...!)

Welcome Back, Kotter was an over the top type of show. Normal high school kids didn't act like those "Sweathogs" in the TV show. But overall the show is pretty funny. I don't like the last season too much, but seasons 1, 2, and 3 are mostly good.

I think it's definitely "of its time". I loved it when the show was on, but honestly if I saw it now it'd be so darned camp I doubt I'd laugh.
Maaaybe smile...

It's just so ridiculous and Travolta is so perfect as Barbarino that it always manages to bring a smile.
