Joanne or Joanna? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hi, I asked this question at the FOL Femslash forum in LiveJourna and also at Fanfiction.net, but I got no answer so hopefully the third time is the charm

Is Jo's full name Joanne or Joanna? Because I see people using both in fanfictions. Wikipedia has it as Joanne, but I don't know if that's really canon.

The reason why the question is important to me is because it makes a BIG difference in my fanfiction, title "Joanna (I Love You)" I would have to change a few things in the story based on the answer you guys and gals give to me. So please respond to this post if you know the answer, or you can simply tell me it doesn't really matter, then it will make a lot of things easier for me

It's Joanna. Charlie calls her "Joanna Marie" in a few episodes.

Agreed! It's Joanna. Although in The New Girl, when Blair reads her new roommate's name from the dorm assignment list she says "Joanne." Throughout the remainder of the series though it is Joanna. I just assume Blair read it wrong in her attempt to figure out the last name.

(Yes, I know in reality the writers just changed it later, but I have to justify everything for my make-believe characters.)

Thanks to you two. I'm glad that it's Joanna, it makes the story easier. Now I can delete the second part, thank God.

I will post my story in about 30 seconds by now

. It's a 2-part Jo/Blair story.
