New Jersey Senator Sponsoring New "Anti-Snooki" Legislation
Apr 8, 2011 by Natalie Abrams "Jersey Shore's" Snooki is stirring up drama once again. In light of Snooki's recent well paid appearance at Rutgers University, New Jersey Sen. Joe Kyrillos announced on his website Friday that he is planning to sponsor legislation that would reverse the way public universities collect student fees, instead allowing students to opt in to campus events requiring a fee. To speak at a campus event Snooki was paid $32,000, which is $2,000 more than what Nobel Prize-winning novelist Toni Morrison is getting paid to speak during commencement in May. The money she was paid came from the mandatory student activity fee. "Students ought not be forced to fund entertainment or events that they find objectionable," Kyrillos said. "There were a great deal of Rutgers students who I am certain were uninterested or flat out outraged by Ms. Polizzi's appearance on campus." Kyrillos went on to say that Snooki is "a degenerate reality television star who offers neither useful advice nor any appreciable talents." At her Rutgers appearance, Snooki earned the handsome fee to speak about her hair pouf, her career as a reality show star and author, and, of course, the GTL lifestyle. Her advice to the scholars: "Study hard, but party harder." http://www.tvguide.com/News/Jersey-S...i-1031644.aspx |

....Senator Kyrillos is merely suffering from a case of "sour grapes" because he KNOWS he couldn't possibly attract the same fees "Snooki" received from Rutgers. Any time a conservative political figure, in some authority, attacks a popular media figure by referring to them as, say, "a degenerate reality television star", that's a sure sign that the accuser themselves is far worse. "Snooki" is many things, but she certainly isn't "degenerate". Referring to her that way may help the Senator score brownie points among his fellow Republicans, but it won't make Kyrillos any more popular with the rest of his community.
