On our local oldies station this past weekend they requested that we tell what was the first 45 rpm record that we bought? I thought that it would be interesting to see what yours was. I don't know when 45's fazed out but I'm thinking in the 80's sometime? Well, my first 45 was SHE LOVES YOU-THE BEATLES. Surprise surprise!
Anyway I wore that record out! I still love it!

I've never actually bought a 45, but I have some in my collection. There's the beat-up copy of The Beatles' "Hey Jude"/"Revolution" that I found in the attic of a house we moved into when I was a kid. I believe it's the first Apple release.
I also have a copy of The Rolling Stones' "Start Me Up" (if I recall correctly, "Hang Fire" is the b-side), and several Pearl Jam Christmas releases that I got for being a member of their official fan club. |

I can't be certain but it was PROBABLY Gene Autry's "Rudolph the Red-Nosed
Reindeer" (b/w "If It Doesn't Snow on Christmas"), which actually was bought for me by my parents. And I still have it and it still plays! I've had that record since the 1950s! |

I've never actually bought a 45, but when I was a baby, my parents bought Ernie's (Jim Henson, Sesame Street) "Rubber Ducky" for me to hear. I recently found that 45 amongst some of the ones my dad had bought for himself around that same time, like "Boogie Oogie Oogie" by A Taste of Honey.

The Happy Days Theme Song! And the B side was an instrumental number called "Cruisin With The Fonz"!
