Tina Fey: Sarah Palin Impersonation 'May Have Hurt' '30 Rock'

In her new book Bossypants, Tina Fey suggests her Emmy-winning impersonation of Sarah Palin may have hurt ratings for her NBC sitcom 30 Rock.
“Some may argue that exploiting Governor Palin and her family helped bring attention to my low-rated TV show,” she writes, according to USA Today, which has an excerpt of the book. “I am proud to say you are wrong.

“My TV show still enjoys very low ratings,” she goes on. “In fact, I think the Palin stuff may have hurt the TV show. Let’s face it, between Alec Baldwin and me there is a certain fifty percent of the population who think we are pinko Commie monsters.”

Julianne Moore will next take a stab at portraying Palin in HBO’s upcoming Game Change, which follows John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign.

“I’m imagining it will be a very different tone,” Fey recently told Access Hollywood. “She’s a great choice. She’s a great actress, If she needs my wig, I have it. It’s at SNL.”

Palin doesn’t seem as excited.

Last month, when asked about the project, she told Fox News’ Sean Hannity: "I think I'll just grit my teeth and bear whatever comes what may with that movie.”
