Huge "OLTL" Casting News! Roger Howarth Returns!

After months of speculation, Digest has received exclusive confirmation that Emmy-winning actor Roger Howarth is indeed returning to Llanview and will begin filming in May.

"I am looking forward to returning to 'OLTL'," says Howarth.

"We are going to have a lot of fun telling this story and I am excited to see how it will unfold."

In 1992, Howarth originated the role of Todd Manning and quickly became a fan fave, nabbing a Daytime Emmy in 1994 and two Soap Opera Digest Awards.

After leaving "OLTL" in 2003, Howarth played "ATWT's" Paul until that show's cancellation in 2010.

Details surrounding how the actor will return to the fold are still up in the air.

"We are thrilled to have Roger return to 'OLTL'," says Executive Producer Frank Valentini.

"As 'OLTL' viewers know, Trevor St. John has been playing the role of Todd Manning since 2003. We have a great story planned that will involve both actors."

I had a feeling it would only be a matter of time after the cancelation of ATWT when Roger would return to OLTL.

Either way will be interesting. Howarth is a fantastic actor.

Imagine what he must be feeling.

Last year ATWT was cancelled. This year he gets hired back at OLTL, and now they are getting cancelled. If this guy went to an ABC office and smashed every piece of furniture in it, he is justified.

The first on screen sighting of Roger Howarth on "One Life to Live" will be Friday, May 13.

Soaps In Depth reported the date and Soap Opera Network added that head writer Ron Carlivati decided to drop in scenes of Howarth sooner than originally intended, in part because of ABC's announcement that "OLTL" will be off the air in January 2012.
