It was revealed in the December 14, 1978 issue of Jet Magazine that Good Times was in danger of being cancelled due to low ratings and the producer felt that they need to move the Evans out of the projects

LL-Why didn't they come uop with that thought in season 3????-lol It took the show to be in danger of being cancellled for this fool to move the Evans out of the projects. Tghey didn't know that fans wanted to see the Evans experience some Good Luck for a change?

I think Good Times was at its best when the family was battling adversity.

It didn't have to be a BIG CHANGE just some improvement from season to season. Show had no growth at all

I agree however, the honchos were not thinking like that back in the day. It seemed that attitude was "if it works, stick with it!" or "throw the silly putty to the wall. If it sticks, then we'll keep it".

But why go backwards when Esther Rolle returns in season 6? J.J was a advertising execetive who was let go, Thelma could not move out the Ghetto. Peopl bck then probably just said the hell with this show..same ole depressing sh*T-lol
