Who made tv watching more of an event than Mary? So many classic episodes, not only on her show TMTMS, but on her spinoffs and other MTM enterprise shows she produced. So I ask again, who was better? Lucille Ball perhaps? Norman Lear? Talk to me! lol

It's hard to say who's "better" among that group. Everyone had their own styles. I was never a huge "Lucy" fan but that's just not my brand of comedy as much as MTM or Lear's was.
I will say that MTM and AITF were two shows I never missed as a kid. My dad and mom both watched AITF and I think only Mom watched MTM, but I was glued to both. Always great writing and acting and always some laughs. |

TMTMS was definitely must-see TV!! Many of the MTM shows were, like Bob Newhart's two classic sitcoms, and WKRP, etc.

If I had to pick the greatest TV star ever it would have to be Lucille Ball. But our beloved Mary is surely up there in the top four or five someplace. And of course that other great, Betty White. God Bless Betty - almost 90 & as big a star as ever. Hope she does SNL another time.
