Arnold Schwarzenegger's reps declined to comment last week for our story that the former California Governor may be doing an animated series with producer Andy Heyward based on a superhero character created in partnership with comic book icon Stan Lee. Well, that's probably because they were in the process of booking the cover of Entertainment Weekly to unveil the new character. Called The Governator, it is a version of Schwarzenegger after he has left the Governor's office and becomes a crime fighter, Lee told EW. The Governator will run operations out of a secret high-tech crime-fighting center (aka Arnold Cave) under his house in Brentwood and will have a fleet of super vehicles and a closet full of “Super Suits” at his disposal. He will be surrounded by a gallery of sidekicks, including a 13-year-old computer whiz, and supervillains, including G.I.R.L.I.E Men, named after another Arnold-ism.
Schwarzenegger let news of the Governator slip a couple of weeks ago in an interview with a fan site, in which he said: "I am packaging a comic book character right now. I'm going to announce that sometime at the end of March or the beginning of April." Schwarzenegger is slated to unveil the animated series in a press conference at MIPTV on April 4. http://www.deadline.com/new-york/

Arnold Schwarzenegger's animated project, "The Governator" is officially on hold ... TMZ has learned.
The official announcement comes just a few hours after Schwarzenegger said he was putting all his future acting gigs in a holding pattern. A rep for the animated project -- Arnold's first after leaving office -- tells TMZ, "In light of recent events, A Squared Entertainment, POW, Stan Lee Comics, and Archie Comics, have chosen to not go forward with the Governator project." The rep would not specify if the project is completely dead or just postponed until Arnold's personal issues blow over. One potential problem was the show's plot ... Arnold's character was supposed to fight crime with the help of his wife Maria and their four kids. http://www.tmz.com/2011/05/19/arnold...-canceled-pos/ |

that honestly sounds like one of the dumbest ideas for a cartoon ever, he probably planned to market a line of kids cereals to go with it as well.

...was no more ridiculous than the one he created for Pamela Anderson about eight years ago- "STRIPPERELLA" [pole dancer by day, crime-fighing "superheroine" at night, with lots of double entrendres and occasional flashes of nudity]. That series lasted just 13 episodes on the Spike cable channel. How long do you think "THE GOVERNATOR" would have lasted?
