As long as it's on the list, it's fine by me.

Too low. It should at least be in the top ten.

I agree.
I'd rank it in the top 10, but I can't imagine there are even 20 shows that were more influential than The Mary Tyler Moore Show! |

These types of lists should always be taken with a grain of salt. For example, The Comics Journal listed the top 100 comic strips / comic books of the 20th century, yet their editor deliberately left off both Superman and Batman!

I agree that it should've been ranked higher, I mean no disrespect to any particular show, but I think MTM was more influential than Andy Griffith, The Honeymooners, The Flinstones, Lassie and Father Knows Best. IMO |

I just looked at the list, it goes in the order that a series debut in. The list starts in 1948 with Uncle Miltie and the Texaco Star Theater show. I Love Lucy comes in at #7 because that is the order that she debut in. All in the Family is #42, so guess what comes in at #42? MTM!
Pretty fun read and worth checking out: http://www.adweek.com/aw/photos/stylus/1230248-100.pdf |

It was a great show so #42 seems low to me. It certainly showed how intelligent and well-crafted a show could be. I never tire of it.
