Since Ozzy has been such a hot topic of late, I thought it was a time to make a thread where everyone can pick their favorite Ozzy albums, both as lead singer of Black Sabbath and a solo artist.
Here's mine: 1. Paranoid (BS) 2. Blizzard of Ozz (solo) 3. Diary of a Madman (solo) 4. Black Sabbath Volume 4 (BS) 5. No More Tears (solo) 6. Master of Reality (BS) 7. Black Sabbath (BS) 8. Bark at the Moon (solo) 9. Sabbath, Bloody, Sabbath (BS) 10. Ossmosis (solo) |

I'd start with his work with Black Sabbath (in particular favorite order):
1. Paranoid 2. Black Sabbath 3. Master Of Reality 4. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 5. Black Sabbath Vol. 4 (pretty much a toss-up between this and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath) 6. Sabotage 7. Technical Ecstasy 8. Never Say Die! I haven't heard the live Reunion album all the way through, though what I've heard does sound very good. ![]() There is also a "Live At Last" album that came out years ago, but it's more of an import and hard to find, but it's included on the "Past Lives" compilation album. |

Of Black Sabbath Ozzy my favorites are Master of Reality, Paranoid, and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
Of solo Ozzy my favorite album is Bark at the Moon. Of Ozzy's recent material (post-2000) my favorite is Black Rain. |

Here is my list of favorite Ozzy albums in order:
1. Tribute with Randy Rhoads (live) 2. Diary Of a Madman (a toss-up between this and #1) 3. Blizzard Of Ozz 4. Bark At the Moon 5. No Rest For the Wicked (a toss-up between this and #4) 6. No More Tears 7. The Ultimate Sin 8. Scream I haven't heard enough from "Ozzmosis" or "Down To Earth", but from what I recall, those albums didn't impress me. I didn't get into the song "Perry Mason". Those songs were just kind of "there", nothing special. "Black Rain" had some moments, though I had a hard time with "I Ain't Gonna Stop", a little too poppy for me. The title track was good, though. I was a little disappointed with "Not Going Away", Zakk's guitars seemed to blaze over a rather sluggish, chugging and plodding rhythm guitar and drum section. I remember some of the ballads played at Ozzfest from that album, I was not impressed, kind of sappy really. I haven't heard enough of the new album, but it sounds like he's getting back on track. |

Ozzmosis, I consider to be his last really good album. It is pretty heavy on the ballads but I think they remain some of his best. "See You On The Other Side" and "I Just Want You" are especially good. I didn't really like much off of Down To Earth except for "Gets Me Through" and "Dreamer", which is one of his most beautiful songs. Overall, my disappointment over that album resulted in the fact that I didn't even buy Black Rain. |
