For a second consecutive year, CBS will carry the Daytime Emmy Awards. The 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will air live on the network on June 19 from the Las Vegas Hilton in Las Vegas, which also hosted the show last year. Also back is Associated Television International, which will be producing the telecast for a third consecutive year, with ATI president David McKenzie executive producing. "NATAS is once again delighted to work with CBS and ATI on the broadcast of the Daytime Emmy Awards," said Darryl Cohen, chairman of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
After airing on the CW in 2009, the Daytime Emmys returned to the Big 3 nets last year with a deal at CBS, which had previously alternated with ABC in carrying the awards show. Once again, CBS will air both the Daytime Emmys and the Tony Awards in June. Meanwhile, the primetime branch of the TV Academy, ATAS, is close to signing another 8-year "wheel" deal with ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox. http://www.deadline.com/hollywood/ |
