What Does the Original 'Wonder Woman' Lynda Carter Think of the New Look?
As soon as the photo of Adrianne Palicki as the new Wonder Woman was released today, the big question was: What does the original think of the revamped Amazonian superhero?
Well, guess who I just talked to? Yup, Lynda Carter! Here's what she had to say... "I think she looks fabulous," said Carter, who originated the role in the classic (and oh-so-campy!) series in the mid-'70s. "It's a new look and, jeez, her body looks fantastic." Carter wants everyone to give Palicki a chance. "You know, I'm very sensitive to the fact that she will be compared," Carter said. "There's no getting around it. It is what it is. I would hope that people would cut her some slack. "I'm sure there will be people who say she looks better than me and like her better than me—and that's also fine," she continued. "I want this story to be told again. I'm really excited. I can't wait to see it." The series is being remade by legal eagle television writer David E. Kelley. And yes, Carter says, they've already talked about her making an appearance. "It's not out of the question," she said. "It would be great." As for now, Carter is busy working on next month's release of her new album, Crazy Little Things. Oh, you didn't realize Ms. Carter was a singer? This is actually her third album. Well, Kelley knows who to call if he ends up doing a musical episode of Wonder Woman. Read more: http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/marc...#ixzz1H0je2ssH

I still don't know about this remake. David Kelley has a habit of bringing politics in all his shows. I liked some of them but it can be a bit much. Wonder Woman should be just a fun show. I think that's where the New Bionic Woman failed. It just was too serious.

....after she finished "THE NEW ADVENTURES OF WONDER WOMAN", she starred in a series of CBS musical variety specials from 1980 through 1984. Now, she's trying to revive her performing career with a new CD. Lots of luck!
By the way, did you ever notice that virtually all of Lynda's "Wonder Woman" poses posted in the media these days are from the 1977-'79 CBS series, when she wore that modified "low-cut bathing suit" (with pantyhose!) designed by Donfeld?

Speaking of "political," FOX News already has a problem with the costume, saying it isn't patriotic enough...
The Wonder Woman costume for NBC’s remake of the 1970’s series has been revealed, and is stirring up some controversy -- from Fox News. FoxNews.com featured a piece Friday which took issue with the loss of Wonder Woman’s stars and stripes. The new outfit from David E. Kelley’s pilot was revealed on Friday. “The new and allegedly improved Wonder Woman (a.k.a Diana Prince) has been given a head-to-toe makeover by artist Jim Lee, replacing her signature American flag decorated briefs with skintight…pants and purging the super hero of all her trappings of Americana,” the story claims. Despite the criticism, a spokesperson for the heroine’s creator, DC Comics, defends the costume change, telling the website. “The latest evolution of Wonder Woman’s iconic costume is a central part of the latest comic book storyline. All of the classic symbols – patriotic (stars, eagle) and heroic (lasso, bracelets) – are ever-present.” http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment...iotic-costume/ |

...that period in Wonder Woman's DC comic books when the eagle on her costume was replaced by a "WW" symbol that vaguely resembled an eagle????? Certainly not Fox News, who loves to stir up controversy on any issue concerning "lack of patriotism". BLARRGH!!

Don't like the new costume. She looks more like a live action doll than a person. IMO, pants and a bustier just do not go together.
And as far as FAKE news is concerned, they're just upset because she's progressive! |
