Norman Lear asked writer Mike Evans, who also was Lionel from the Jeffersons to create a Black pilot show and Good Times was created. He named the youngest brother in the show Michael Evans as sort of a ego trip. So Ralph Carter was widely known as Michael Evans than the real Mike Evans during that that time-lol
