Default Someone told me they have 5000 songs on their IPOD??

I thought this sounded ridiculous because I been in the world 35 years and I have not heard 5000 songs that I liked-lol 5000????

I think out of all the songs I liked over the years, it would still be under 500-lol not 5000

Any other 5000 people on here?

Nope, I'm way too big of a fan of many artists to only listen to that amount.

Currently I'm up to 471 songs on my iPod, and I've pretty much collected all my favorite music of all time on there. Occasionally I'll hear another song that I'll say, 'Hey, I'm going to add it'. But I don't add a bunch of songs as I did when I was first compiling my iTunes library from purchases or from CDs I already owned, and even with the CDs only kept the songs from the album I liked and deleted the others.

But it is true; I listen to some more than others, about 50 of them. If I'm not in the mood for a certain song, I just don't listen to it. I'm one of these (I suspect just about everyone is) who has his finger poised over the Forward button. As soon as a new song starts in the Shuffle mode and I don't want to hear it at that moment, I go to the next one, until I come to a song I want to hear all the way through, then I stay there. The danger there for me is listening to a song I like too many times, then I either grow sick of it, or I don't enjoy the song with the same enthusiasm I had about it when I first heard it. Sometimes I just decide I don't want to listen to any music at all that day and take a little break; that works for me.

The only time I don't fast forward and let everything play through is when I'm using iTunes or my iPod as background noise while I'm working on something else.

I use the "Genius" mode on iTunes way more than I used to. As I said earlier, I'm almost to my limit on all my favorite music. The genius mode will occasionally uncover a lost treasure I'd forgotten about.

I don't think that I like 200 songs that much, let alone 5000. I tend to get tired of song fairly quickly, unless it's something from like the 80's early 90's.

I have almost 6300 songs on my iPod, plus almost 1400 videos. Most of the time, I put my iPod on shuffle so I don't listen to the same songs all the time.

He's just giving Itunes his money lol. Is he paying for all of those songs? I love music, but I don't love it that much. I have maybe 70/75 on my ipod.

That's a lot of songs. I can't imagine having to sift through all those songs looking for a particular one.

I don't have an IPod or MP3 player.

i don't think its inconceivable to have that many songs, it all depends on what you like and how long you've been building your collection; I started transferring songs from cd to MP3's back in the mid 90's and I couldn't tell you how many thousands I have now. I don't listen to them all but I know that they are there if I want to (I have many songs that are unreleased or otherwise unavailable/hard-to-get that would be impossible to replace otherwise).

what I don't get is people complaining about not being able to upgrade the memory in their Kindles; I mean really, you need to store more than 3500 books on there? you are afraid of running out of something to read?

I never understood the appeal of Kindle. I only have one audiobook on my iPod (Christy narrated by Kellie Martin) - but I like my books the good old-fashioned way. They don't need to be re-charged or anything like that.
