BEST 1940's COLOR Popeye the sailor cartoons
(No 1940's Black and White cartoons,please.Just color 1940's ones)-And there were a lot of them:Well,anyway,here's just a sample of my favorites-"The Marry Go Round",(w/the late Arnold Stang as Shorty)"House Tricks?","Puppet Love","For Better or Nurse","Symphony in Spinach","The Anvil Chorus Girl","Spinach vs.Hamburger","Tar With a Star","Spinach Packin' Popeye",and "Olive Oyl for President".What are your choices?Feel free to post.

Any color Popeye's from the 40's have been colorized they were originally in B&W, they weren't in color until the 50's if I'm not mistaken.

"Cartoons Ain't Human" (released Sept. 3, 1943) was the last black-&-white
Popeye cartoon. "Her Honor the Mare" (Nov. 26, 1943) was the first Technicolor release. Per Leonard Maltin's book Of Mice and Magic: A History of American Animated Cartoons. |
