Of all the detectives, I would have to say Detective Yemana...

Everyone knows my thing for Gregory Sierra/Chano.
But I don't think Chano was the funniest of the bunch (but his Spanish rants were hilarious). Yemana was hysterical, Fish's deadpan reactions had me rolling, and Dietrich got the funniest lines.

The way the detectives bounced off each other was awesome, too - especially how Dietrich always drove Harris up the wall without even realizing it!!

Yep, funniest lines went to Dietrich but...they were all funny in their own ways, some more subtley than others. And any one of them were never as funny as they all were together!

I think the characters were such that it matters who they are with.
In my barney Miller/Welcome Back Kotter crossover (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6825896/...n_Transitions), Dietrich has the best lines whent he Sweathogs, 3 different times, plead the wrong amendment. his deadpan reactions were just the thing. Fish worked very well in spots, too, especially when Horshack compares his face to Columbo's raincoat. But I think visually, Harris would have been best reacting to Washington picking up the precinct phone (scolding him and then having to tell him it's for him). ANd of course, to Mr. kiotter, "Were you their teacher?...You poor man." It was fun trying to write it, though I hadn't seen it in years except for a few episdoes on hulu (which reminded me how much I lvoed it back then when I was a kid.) I hope I did them all justice. |

Sounds interesting!! It would've been fun had they really done a WBK crossover. Sure, the WBK characters were in Brooklyn and the BM characters were in Manhattan, but hey, it was still NYC!!
