Default Did Hallmark ruin I Love Lucy?

Hey, I'm currently watching the episode "Lucy Fakes Illness" on the Hallmark channel and was wondering. Does it seem like they ruined the show? Because it looks they chopped the first part of this episode up so much it doesn't makes sense no more. At least I have the show on DVD. Also it seems sped up on hallmark. Please let know your ideas thanks.

I live in Los Angeles where "I Love Lucy" has been running on KTTV 11 for years (now it airs mostly on KCOP 13). They, too, run the old, chopped up syndication prints. It is a little ridiculous for Hallmark to air the "old" films. They should have aired the good prints that TV Land use to air. But alas, the more commercials aired, the more money they make!

I was just watching an episode and they cut Lucy off in mid-sentence. She said like 3 words and then it noticeably cut to a different scene. WTF?

Yeah Hallmark chops it just like they all do, but NO ONE as bad as that god awful TV Land! I have to wonder why they even bother showing any shows...why not just show commercials? IDIOTS! Thank God I don't have to rely on them anymore because I have the DVD's so screw'em all!

I wasn't watching this episode, but was watching The Golden Girls on Hallmark the other day and was APPALLED at how much they cut from one episode....part of it made no sense because of the careless editing.

Default I recall a article in the NATIONAL LAMPOON...

...in the early '80s where they parodied a typical small-town Midwestern TV station- "WEEE"- with a schedule that bordered on the inane and absurd {"MERV DOUGLAS", "LET'S HAVE LUNCH!", "LET'S HAVE DINNER!" ("A conversation with our lunchtime guest"), "FERTILIZER McGOON AND HIS CARTOON JERK PARADE", anyone?}.

One of the so-called programs, scheduled very early in the morning, was "A LITTLE BIT O' LUCY" {"Ten minutes of the classic series 'I LOVE LUCY'"}. That set me to thinking: in a fictional context, this dinky little station obviously couldn't buy all 179 episodes because they were a "cheap" outfit, and probably had about 26 syndicated prints in their library...and showed 10 minutes apiece of each of their episodes in three parts to stretch their "inventory". Or, they had "incomplete" episodes of all 179, and could only show 10 minutes of each! What Hallmark Channel is doing to "I LOVE LUCY" these days reminded me of that LAMPOON satire...

I haven't noticed, but I do miss the Lucy and Ricky cartoon intro.

Hallmark ruined "I Love Lucy." Some of the episodes are so badly edited that I can't stand to watch them. Thank God that all the I Love Lucy episodes are on DVD. We now only need seasons five and six of "The Lucy Show" and "Here's Lucy." I don't care if I ever watch any Lucy shows on TV again. Thank God for the DVDs.

That sounds terrible. We had a local tv station (I think they were affiliated with a community college) that showed the same 10 public domain episodes of The Lucy Show each morning. The channel disappeared after Hurricane Rita.

I've never noticed any careless editing from Hallmark when I watch I Love Lucy -- which is nearly every day it airs on the channel. Maybe I don't pay too much to the syndication cuts? I do, however, notice cuts but usually they are just to speed up the episode and aren't really ruining the story. I'll have to pay much attention when Lucy Fakes Illness airs next time.

I think they have definitely ruined The Golden Girls ... they edit it so carelessly!! I don't really watch I Love Lucy on Hallmark though.

I agree that Hallmark spoils the I love Lucy with so many commercials and also they were in season 6 this week and now go backwards?
Also a question why does I tunes have every other episode and not the whole
library
