Exclamation Update: Charlie Sheen and WB Reach Settlement in Lawsuit

Charlie Sheen Sues Chuck Lorre, Warner Bros. for $100 Million
by Jean Bentley
posted Mar 10th 2011

Charlie Sheen has put his money where his mouth is, so to speak -- the actor just filed a $100 million lawsuit against Warner Bros. and Chuck Lorre for firing him from his hit CBS sitcom, "Two and a Half Men", TMZ reports.

Sheen spoke out on the lawsuit via -- what else? -- his Guinness World Record-setting Twitter account, writing "You corporate Trolls were warned. And now you've been served!"

After Warner Bros. gave Sheen the axe via letter earlier this week, the star told "Access Hollywood Live" he felt the bigwigs involved were cowards.

"These guys are such yellow cockroaches that they didn't even have the decency to call me," said Sheen, indicating that he received a text with the news.

"I put five bill in their cheap suit pockets. It's just deplorable."

The lawsuit, according to TMZ, is also on behalf of the "Men" crew.

Sheen's lawyer, Marty Singer, wrote in the suit:

"Chuck Lorre, one of the richest men in television who is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, believes himself to be so wealthy and powerful that he can unilaterally decide to take money away from the dedicated cast and crew of the popular television series, 'Two and a Half Men,' in order to serve his own ego and self-interest, and make the star of the Series the scapegoat for Lorre's own conduct."

Singer also claims Warner Bros. violated federal and state laws by firing Sheen when he was sick.

Oh No

What a ridiculous pile of crap!! The only person whose conduct is responsible for Charlie Sheen getting fired is Charlie Sheen!! Of course denial and blaming others are just symptoms of the disease Mr. Sheen is suffering from. I hope the court throws out this frivolous lawsuit before too much time and money are wasted on it!!!

Charlie will be wasting his money if he continues his lawsuit. He's lost it!

dang, its not like they lost his pants at the drycleaners or anything!

maybe he's just aiming high hoping they'll be willing to settle and just give him $50 million instead of going to court.

It is rumored he is set to earn that much just on residuals. So, what is his problem?

He can forget about winning his lawsuit because he has himself to blame for getting fired. He's a crazy guy and i wouldn't be surprised if he's dead soon. So sad what's happening to him because he's a good actor.

Charlie Sheen Lawsuit to Go Forward in Arbitration
by Jean Bentley
posted Mar 23rd 2011

Despite Charlie Sheen's best attempts, the star's lawsuit against CBS will go forward in arbitration.

Sheen had filed an injunction to get the dispute settled in court, but according to Entertainment Weekly, a judge ruled that the case can continue in private arbitration as his contract with Warner Bros. stipulates, saving us from a very public court battle.

Instead, we'll just have to rely on inside sources and Sheen's frequent rants to inform us of the progress.

Charlie Sheen Close to Settling "Two and a Half Men" Legal Case; Will Be Paid Millions
9/19/2011
by Matthew Belloni

Charlie Sheen is close to settling his $100 million legal dispute with Warner Bros. and "Two and a Half Men" co-creator Chuck Lorre over Sheen's firing from the hit sitcom.

Sources confirm to THR that the studio is wrapping up a deal to end the litigation, which is being handled by a private arbitrator. Sheen and Warners and Lorre brought claims against each other stemming from Sheen's abrupt dismissal from the Lorre-produced sitcom in the wake of his bizarre behavior in the spring.

Under the terms of the settlement, sources tell THR that Sheen will get an undisclosed lump sum payment in the million of dollars. He in return will drop all of his legal claims.

A Warners spokesman said the studio has no comment.

Word of the settlement first emerged from the LA Times, which puts the dollar amount at $25 million.

Our sources say that pricetag is high, but since Warner Bros. has been withholding Sheen's profit participation on "Men" from all seasons (even the work he did before he went ballistic on the studio), the amount of the settlement will likely include the reinstatement of that revenue stream.

Charlie Sheen, Warner Bros. Reach a Settlement Over "Two and a Half Men" Dispute
Sept 26, 2011
by Natalie Abrams

Charlie Sheen, Warner Bros. Television and "Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre have reached a settlement over the actor's $100 million lawsuit against the studio, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

"Warner Bros. Television, Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen have resolved their dispute to the parties' mutual satisfaction," the studio said in a statement.

"The pending lawsuit and arbitration will be dismissed as to all parties. The parties have agreed to maintain confidentiality over the terms of the settlement."

While details of the settlement were not released, the former "Two and a Half Men" star will reportedly get roughly $25 million to settle out of his contract, which represents Sheen's participation in profits from the show, according to L.A. Times, who initially reported on the near-resolution of the settlement.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the terms of the settlement include Sheen dropping all of his legal claims.
