Gameshow creator-exec producer Mike Hill died March 5 of lung cancer in Laguna Beach, Calif. He was 72.

Hill started his career with the Chuck Barris Co. in 1965 and helped develop the "Dating Game" and "Newlywed Game" shows, as well as "Operation Entertainment," a primetime variety series on ABC in the late '60s.

He then moved to New York to produce talkshow "Midday Live," with Lee Leonard, and worked on other yakkers.

In the mid-'70s he teamed with Bob Eubanks on Hill-Eubanks Inc., which created several network gameshows for daytime, including "All-Star Secrets"; talkshows including "The Toni Tennille Show"; and a syndicated version of revision of "You Bet Your Life" with Buddy Hackett.

For the U.K. Hill-Eubanks created the Eubanks-hosted "Infatuation," "Games for a Laugh" and "Celebrity Secrets."

In the late '90s, Hill became an actor in dinner theater.
