Which sitcoms do you think qualify under this?
Not Going Out is perhaps the best example of this. Terrible puns, mad and unreal situations, but so brilliant at the same time. Really really funny stuff. Another sitcom that is having this feeling on me is Bless This House, which I'm currently making my way through. It's ****: the characters are unbelivable and unrealistic, the jokes are repetitive and predictable, yet it is just absolutely fantastic at the same time. Sid James is brilliant. As is Anthony Jackson as Trevor and Sally Geeson as Sally. I think it is reliant on the cast - without Sid James I think it would be genuine **** - but with him in the role, it is just downright great in my view. What do other people think? |
