what if instead of going to California, they instead had Laverne & Shirley go into the army full time? Have Sgt. Plout (Vicki Lawrence) become a regular. Maybe even find a way to get Lenny & Squiggy in there somehow, that would be a riot!

They'd have to have dropped all of the other characters, but honestly that would have been OK with me. Most of the time they just didn't add much for me, I never cared for Carmine and his dancing/singing interludes. Nothing against any of the actors, they were all talented. I just think the show was at its best when it was Laverne & Shirley in some kind of situation and having to work their way out of it. They were one of the best comic duos of all time!

I say no. I think moving to California was better than having them join the Army. Of course, I say this with a bias of having been to California myself and never in the Army (or any of the service branches, for that matter).

That reminds me of someone I knew online that had a website for The Wonder Years and wrote a "fanfic" about Kevin joining the ROTC. It would have done worse for TWY than a change of location did for L&S.
