Question Is There Anything You Would've Changed From The Mary Tyler Moore Finale?

Yes, the final episode is a classic, but keep in mind, this was a show that we invested in for years. Was there something you would have liked to see with the characters before the end credits rolled?

Can't really think of any way to improve upon the script they wrote. It seemed perfect to me.

I think it's one of the best endings ever.

My follow up question would be is there anything at all you would have liked to see but didn't during the entire show's run?

In retrospect, I really would have liked to have seen Rhoda and Phyllis stay for the whole series' run, though I understand the reason for their departures. I always thought that Mary's "home life" suffered a lot when these two, particularly Rhoda, left the show.

So I guess Georgette & Sue Ann Didn't fill the void properly?

^ Well, no. I liked both characters, but Sue Ann was, honestly, never Mary's friend except in a really tangential way, the way you tolerate someone without truly liking them much. And while I think Georgette and Mary were good friends, it seemed like Georgette was more of a "little sister" to Mary than a true contemporary like Rhoda.

Thanks, Brian. And I agree; Rhoda was irreplaceable on TMTMS.

I think the show suffered without Rhoda, thought it was still great. Mary never had a friend like that again. Sue Ann and Georgette brought something to the show all their own but there was no replacing Rhoda.

I agree the last episode was great.

The only thing that bugs me slightly is that Rhoda didn't know Lars had

died,I'm sure Mary would have told Rhoda that Lars had died, but apart from

that,a great last episode.
